Bronchiectasis Clinic

Specialized diagnosis and long-term management to control symptoms, reduce infections, and protect your lung function.

What is bronchiectasis?

Bronchiectasis is a chronic condition in which the airways of the lungs become permanently widened and damaged. This makes it harder to clear mucus, which can pool in the airways and lead to repeated chest infections, a persistent cough, and shortness of breath. Because it's ongoing, bronchiectasis benefits from a structured, specialist-led plan rather than treating each infection in isolation.

Our Bronchiectasis Clinic works to identify the underlying cause where possible, keep infections under control, and give you the tools to manage symptoms day to day.

How our clinic helps

  • Accurate diagnosis — imaging (CT), breathing tests, and sputum cultures
  • Investigation of underlying and contributing causes
  • A personalized airway-clearance plan to help move mucus
  • Prompt, targeted treatment of chest infections
  • Strategies to reduce the frequency and severity of flare-ups
  • Monitoring of lung function over time
  • Vaccination guidance and overall lung-health support

Consider a visit if you…

  • Have a daily or long-standing cough, often with mucus
  • Get frequent or hard-to-shake chest infections
  • Have been told you have bronchiectasis on a scan
  • Feel short of breath or fatigued from recurring symptoms
