What We're Studying

Asthma

Affects over 300 million people worldwide. Studies focus on:

  • New biologics for severe asthma
  • Novel inhaler combinations
  • Long-acting treatments for better symptom control
  • Reducing the frequency of exacerbations

COPD

Impacts about 1 in 7 adults over 40. Current research explores:

  • Novel anti-inflammatory approaches
  • Treatments to reduce flare-ups
  • Solutions to reduce day-to-day symptoms
  • Whether better COPD control lowers heart-attack risk

Bronchiectasis

A chronic condition of infection and inflammation that permanently damages the lung airways. We study new approaches to control infections and reduce exacerbations.

Chronic (Neuropathic) Cough

Coughing for more than a year affects up to 10% of adults. Studies investigate:

  • Novel nerve-targeting medications
  • Quality-of-life improvements

Who may qualify?

Eligibility depends on the specific study, but people often considered include:

Asthma

  • Frequent exacerbations despite current treatment
  • Currently on inhaler therapy

COPD

  • Diagnosed with COPD for at least 1 year
  • 1+ flare-up in the past 12 months needing steroids/antibiotics
  • Current or former smoker (≥10 pack-years)
  • On inhaler therapy (often triple therapy, e.g., Trelegy/Breztri)

Bronchiectasis

  • Confirmed diagnosis by CT scan within the past 5 years
  • Chronic mucopurulent (thick, discolored) sputum
  • 2+ exacerbations needing antibiotics in 12 months, or 1+ hospitalization
  • No cystic fibrosis
